The Tree
One of the most charming things about our house and street for that matter were the trees. Notice I said were....The demolition started yesterday and today they reached our HUGE Sycamore tree. After seeing them take it down and watching them take down another monster tree after ours, I believe ours was the BIGGEST and THICKEST tree on the street. It took just a little over 2 hours to get it to the condition of the "after" picture. It is so sad to look at our street with the "sticks" of trees now lining the street. It almost looks like a dead zone or something. Gotta love the city not wanting to help us out in making our city look nicer, add value and character to the neighborhood...but what do you do. I am loosing faith in the "voice of the people" that is for sure.
Here are the pictures of our own Memorial Day. The whole neighborhood came out to watch and talk. A lot of my neighbors have lived here 30 years and some have lived here their whole lives and that is like 60+ years. So they have grown up with these trees. It is amazing that trees can live that long and longer when given the chance.

Nothing to Name
This is just an update blog, I have nothing exciting to share, just information. My back, for those of you who have asked is doing great. I went to the Chiropractor on Monday and I learned a lot of things about my back and he did his "magic" and I am feeling MUCH better.
I had a great Mother's Day, even though it is still surreal to think I am a mom. Tyler spoke in Sacrament Meeting and did a fantastic job. I am so thankful for my mother. I just talked to her tonight, she called to check on me. So nice. I hope I can be a great mom like her someday.
Tyler had another interview with HAFB today. A different job than the last interview he had. We are hoping for the best. Only a few more weeks till summer semester starts and I think Tyler's list of things to do keeps getting longer. :)
We planted my mother's day flowers yesterday and our garden. We are really excited to watch everything grow now.
Speaking of growing, little Emma is growing like a weed and she loves to be outside. She also LOVES the sprinklers. She loves to get wet by them. She just stands there and takes it and then runs around. She is so cute and we love her sooo much.
They are going to start taking our trees on our street tomorrow. Which means I have got to get pictures taken. We are going to have a long dusty hot summer. I haven't figured out how I am going to keep Emma away from the trucks and people etc. It is a small street you know, and like I said, she loves to be outside.
Will post pictures soon.

The Dory Bench
In answer to some questions. Tyler's Dad, Kevin made the Dory Bench for Emma. He is a very talented guy. It's Emma's fish bench. He makes them for his grandchildren. Dory was as feminine a fish as you get! :) And as you can see she loves it. It didn't take her long to figure out how to climb up on it by herself, it is just her size. Thank you Grandpa Groves!

A New Day
Update on Back - better. I still have weird spasms if I move a certain way, but at least I can move today! :)
I can't believe that tomorrow is Friday. Where does the time go?
Emma and I enjoyed blowing bubbles today. She wanted to hold the wand herself - of course. She would dip it 2 or 3 times into the jar and then hold it and blow into the air and no where near the wand. :) It was so cute though. She is mimicking everything we do. It makes me worried that I am being a good example. :)
Tyler got his grades today and he passed all his classes and did well too! Yea! He is slowly counting down the weeks of this break until summer semester starts. He has a list of things he wants to get done now that he has the time. He's such a hard worker and I love him lots.

A pretty boring day....
I pretty much took it easy today and let Emma have at the house. :) I just didn't want to aggravate my back anymore. So nothing exciting to report. I made an appointment with a chiropractor, but they couldn't get me in until Monday....we shall see then.
The highlight of my day was seeing Emma interact with people today. She loved on my neighbor Jana, our friend Katie and her Grandpa Groves. She is so cute and loves to be where the action is. I can't get enough of her myself.
Nite!

Sore Back
Last Friday as I was cleaning the bathroom I did something to my back and it spazmed and OUCH it hurt. It has been pretty sore and I have had to be really careful, but today it got worse and I haven't been able to do pretty much anything! It is incrediably frustrating not to be able to bend over, pick up Emma etc.... Man does it make you grateful! I have no idea what to do if it doesn't get better. What do you do for a sore back? Doctor? Chiropractor? Time? Right now IcyHot and Advil are my best friends. Tyler is a great help with Emma. And I am trying to take it easy, which isn't easy for me to do. I will keep you posted, tommrow may be a Lortab day. :)
We also bought some strawberries today. We are excited to plant them in our little garden.
We also attended our Street Remodle meeting at the City Offices. We are getting our street repaved, sidewalks and sewer redone and it starts in a couple of weeks. We are excited for the new things but very sad that they are also going to be cutting down ALL of our beautiful trees. Man, oh, Man. But what do you do? I will have to post a picture of our street. One last memorial to the shade.
The homemade Lime Ricky Tyler made me is calling my name....

Fun outside!
Neisha, Chris and Rulon came over tonight for FHE. Rulon and Emma had a blast playing together and eating popciles together. Aren't cousins great! They get each other laughing and it is so funny! Check out these pictures of them in our backyard and playhouse! They were playing Peek A Boo and opening the windows of the playhouse to "scare" us!
