Sidewalks!

We finally got Sidewalks in at the End of August! Emma is just starting to realize what they are. When she goes to the neighbors house she cuts through everyone's front yards, because she has never walked on a sidewalk! :)

Money, Money, Money!

Tyler was taking a nap on the couch one day this summer and I was doing something around the house when it got quiet. I went into the living room and found that Emma had found Daddy's wallet and what a find that was! She pulled all the money out and the cards and was putting them on Daddy! Poor Daddy had no idea he was being robbed!

Hanging with the Cousins

This is Riley and Reanna, Emma's third cousins. They came and hung out with us this summer to watch the trucks on our road. IT was a very hot day and we enjoyed the shade of the umbrella, (since it is the only shade we have in the front yard now) and some popsicles! Yum Yum!

Emma took Swimming Lessons this Summer

Emma loved taking swimming lessons in June at the Layton Surf and Swim. I couldn't get her to hold still or stay put for nothing to take pictures. So this is all we have. She loved the water and didn't want me to hold her especially in the deep end. She thought she could touch like she could in the shallow end, ah, my little independent girl. She loves to "swim" in the tub now and does so much better at getting her face and hair wet after swimming lessons. And mom loved getting a little tan! :)

Lots of Catching up to do...

So I am finally updating the blog, I want to get this caught up so I can stay on top of it. I am finally finding some free time and I want to blog during that time. It is nice to keep an online journal and keep family and friends in the know of what we are up too. So here comes a landslide of things that have been going on in our lives!

Birthday List

My Birthday is soon approaching and my brother, James asked me what I wanted for my birthday...I said oh some things... :) He said you should put your birthday list on your blog. What a great idea! So I am. A tradition in our family has always been to make a birthday list. We always knew we wouldn't get everything or even anything on our list, but we had to make one. My mom would always threaten us with some new Superman or Barbie underwear if we didn't make a list, because she wouldn't know what else to get us. :) So, here's the list:
  1. "I'm Trying to be Like Jesus" Janice Kapp Perry CD
  2. The Primary Clip Art CD that got lost and I miss terribly - gift card to Desert Book
  3. Children's Books to Read with Emma. Curious George Board Books, Flip Books, Sheep in a Jeep Board Book, Mimie's Toes Bath Book by Baby Einstein.
  4. A CHI
  5. Clothes and Socks
  6. Scrunchies for my Hair
  7. Pedicure = $20
  8. The Fold up strainer that I see on TV all the time. Mine is too big!
  9. Bracelets
  10. Journal
  11. Pansies for my flower pots for fall
  12. Rack for my platter to put on my new shelf
  13. TBA....

Walking in the Rain

Emma loves to be outside and on one of the few days it actually rained this summer, her Daddy took her for a walk. It was so cute I had to take some pictures. Our road is acutally still there, so I think this was the beginning of June.

Emma's First Icecream Cone!

These pictures say it all. She loved her first ice cream cone after FHE in July.

The CHI

So you know those info commercials for the hair straighteners? I love to watch them for like 10 seconds and laugh at how straight they get your hair. Yah Right! Their models don't have real frizzy/curly/wavy hair, it's pretend. :) I have naturally curly hair and straightening it is a challenged to say the least. My friend introduced me to the CHI - it is the amazing hair straightener that your stylist uses for sure. They are expensive and work great. We made a trade that I would watch her little girl while she teaches piano and she will straighten my hair with the CHI. It is a great trade!
I decided to create my own before and after pictures just like the info commercials. And here they are. I also finally broke down and highlighted my hair. I finally let the gray win and there are very light subtle blonde highlights. I love it and so does Tyler. He said he feels like he has a new wife - "it's exciting!" :)

Long Time no Blog

I know it has been forever, but I have been so busy and when I have a spare moment I don't know where to start to get updated on the blog, so I don't. I am a slacker I know.
In June for South Ogden Days they had a 5K Run and Tyler, Emma and I walked it. Notice we walked, not ran. We did it in 49.02 minutes. And now our Stake is putting one on and we are going to do it and see if we can beat our time. I was the one holding Tyler back so I have been walking with my friend CarolAnne every morning. We are walking 2 miles and will work our way up to 3.5. It is a hard walk, especially when it is up a gradual hill and I am pushing 27.5 pound Emma! I feel skinnier everyday though! ;)
Here we are before the 5k in June with a lot of people from our Ward. CarolAnne, my walking partner and her husband Ryan Knight are in the first picture. Ryan took 1st place in his division in the SOD 5K go Ryan!!!
