So I have decided to be brave and potty train Emma.
She loves to get out of the tub to go "potty". Here are some pictures. We have been slowing going potty for a while now, mostly just before we get into the tub, which is why I think she likes to get out and then go. So between that and her knowing and her being 2 I thought we would give it a whirl!
I am welcome to any tips or advice! Please share! It's Wednesday now and we haven't actually pee'd in the potty yet. We keep missing it and today I didn't even try, yesterday was a long day for me :) I don't want to push it, so if this doesn't work I will take a break for a while. But I do have treats for her when she sits on the potty. (Resses Pieces) and a Sucker when she actually goes and she wants one of those suckers. But hasn't made it yet! I haven't been going the full day in panties, because things get busy. But I think once we figure things out, it will be okay. But we both are just beginners in a way...

Good luck I am not looking forward to doing it again with Ruby. She's smart, I think once she gets the hang of it she'll do great. Have you tried pull-ups yet? I did that during the day for a long time and that helped. He didn't pee all over and he felt like a big boy.
i just wanted to say that i love emma's face in the first picture with the underwear on. and about the whole potty tranning thing. have you heared about a potty watch? they are really cool there is a girl at my work who is 2 and has one. you can set them to go off i think every 15 minutes, half hour, or hour. when it goes of it flashes lights and has a song. when it goes off you take her to the bath room and sit her on the potty. it gets her used to going to the potty. i think you can get them at kid to kid for like 10 bucks. if you want i can ask to make sure. let me know.

There's nothing that scared me worse than the thought of potty training. I just knew I would fail miserably and Iain would be in diapers until he was 5 ;) He actually made it pretty easy on me. We started when he was closer to two and a half. I wasn't very serious about it until after Jonathan came home from his deployment. We used the sticker method. He had a chart and got to put a sticker on each time he went potty. Since he LOVES stickers, that worked pretty well. Some of my friends have also used stickers and a big toy. Once they fill the chart, they earn a big toy. We just really let Iain go at his own pace and then we ran out of pull-ups and I decided I didn't want to buy anymore. Iain had already picked out big boy underwear that he liked so we put those on and told him not to let them get wet. He had a few accidents, but really he was totally potty trained over the course of a couple of days. It really helped that he had been staying dry all night from the time he was two.
Looks like you guys had so much fun in St. George--I was basking in the sun pictures :)
I cannot believe that Emma is already 2. You probably cannot believe it, either. She is such a little doll. Thanks for sharing the pics!
Oh yeah, those were the days. I still have a year or more before I have to start thinking about that again. YAY! The only advice I have is to have like 15 pairs (for accidents-so you don't run out of panties in a day) of underwear and then take her in to sit and "go" every 30 minutes. Basically you will get NOTHING done, but she will start to learn how it feels to go and maybe she will identify the feeling of needing to go also. Or at least that is what I did with Jenny and it worked.
Now Jonathan was a different story. He had to do it on his own with no help from me.
So anyway, GOOD LUCK!
I just wish you the best of luck with it. Emma is super smart so I am sure that once she gets what is supposed to happen it will be no time at all before she is potty trained. Good luck!
Hey friend! & former boss!!!! How are you? How fun to find you! Emma is so cute - we are in the potty training phase with Chandler too! I've resorted to bribery. If he can be potty trained - he can have a bicycle... So, that's the new method starting today.
Ahh, potty training! Good luck and use lots of patience! We've been working on it for months now with varying degrees of commitment on both parts, but just let her decide how fast to go and praise her to no end for the little milestones. We're hoping to be be fully potty trained by Isaac's birthday, but that's only two weeks away, so we'll see how that goes. Very exciting though, and I love the pics of her with her panties on her head, so cute!!!
BROOKE!
I am so surprised! How did you find me?! I am glad I am not alone in potty training. You should email me, my email is on my blog. Hope you are well!
Love Laura
